DC10 codecs and compatibility

I work on the newspaper for my school and recently the idea came up to do weekly 5 min. video segments. The idea is that kids can log on in the compu-labs and view it via the network. We plan on editing via the DC-10+.
The problems: (1) The video only plays on the two computers in the building. when you try to play on any other machine, it tries to download a codec but fails.
(2) We will be unable to install ANYTHING on the network, so we'd have to change the format of the video (currently .avi with MJPEG16 encoding.).
IF ANYONE HAS ANY INPUT WHATSOEVER REGARDING WHERE I COULD GET AN ENCODER OR HOW TO MAKE THIS COMPATIBLE, I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.

I think your problem lies in the fact that your using the dc10 to decode the final edited piece.
When outputting try to change the settings to another codec. This will probably make the outputting process very slow but will make it compatable with normal windows operating system without the dc10 card fitted.

P.s. this advice may be complete bollocks but hey you wanted any input. So try this anyway. Go to export>make movie then when the dialogue box comes up asking for the destination directory click settings and change the box that says dc10 codec16.
